Tiffany Barr is an Oakland based artist and fabricator working in paints, metals, casting, clay sculpture, bike building and various other mediums. Ms. Barr began her art studies with a minor in studio art at Mills College in Oakland, and she went on to earn a Masters in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. Her dissertation centered on the therapeutic value of art and narrative.
Her paintings are narrative in nature and are informed by her background in psychology. Her body of work stays firmly grounded in the transformative power of storytelling thru images, color, and emotional tone. She has completed works with the Flaming Lotus Girls, a Bay Area kinetic fire arts group, and is a contributing artist with the fire arts group Empire of Dirt. Tiffany’s work has been featured at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, Oakland’s Art Murmur and the upcoming Imagine Bus Project show “Freedom: Art Indulgence”.
While at NIMBY, Ms. Barr hopes to complete a series of illustrated poems for publication, build her range of paintings, and continue her work on metal bike frames
Ms. Barr currently works for the non-profit community based program that provides assists homeless veterans.
