Alameda artist Zsuzsanna Laszlo was born in Marosvasarhely, Romania. She received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree from California Sate University East Bay. Her work has been exhibited at the Zeitgeist and Black and White Shows in Alameda, California. In 2010 she won the Toki Award and the Mona Froyland Memorial Award with her mixed media piece “Memories
of a Glacier.”
In her paintings Zsuzsanna uses lush texture and combines it with repetition of small elements. Her artworks are more textural
than painterly. Technique, however, should
not be a distraction from the environmental conscious roots of her art. She is always trying to hold a mirror in front of society’s face. When she is not painting she travels and raises her three beautiful daughters.
